Tapion Hospital is the first private hospital on the beautiful island of St. Lucia. It has 32 beds, air-conditioned rooms with telephone and cable TV (and good food!). It has 2 fully equipped operating rooms and a delivery suite. Radiology includes a CT Scanner (the only one in St Lucia), portable X-Ray and full body Ultrasound capability. There are 11 physicians of all specialties on staff with private offices on site. Many other physicians are on staff from the surrounding community. The lab is fully equipped with the latest automated equipment, and a pathologist is available continuously. The hospital has a cooperatively run hemo-dialysis suite and will soon add a hyperbaric chamber for the convenience of St. Lucia tourists. This is clearly the best equipped and staffed place in the Caribbean to get sick, so those of you worried about medical problems on vacation - St Lucia is for you!
